Lysanne Thibodeau Retrospective at the Filmpool Monday July 9th, 2012 7 p.m. doors open Film screening begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission by donation. $5 suggested donation. Cash bar.

Lysanne Thibodeau touring to Regina with a Retrospective Screening of her work. With a career spanning over 30 years, Lysanne Thibodeau has explored numerous cinema genres, including experimental cinema, art films, documentary and fiction. She has lived for more than 15 years in Europe, mainly in Berlin, where she rapidly gained the recognition of established filmmakers such as Jim Jarmusch, Elfie Mikesch, Monika Treut, Rosa von Praunheim and Wim Wenders. This retrospective screening at the Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative on Monday July 9th will not only present her Berlin-based films, but also her first works in Montreal as well as her autobiographical film Ode to a Journey Home.

Lysanne will also be presenting an artist talk and workshop entitled THE CINEMATIC ESSAY on Tuesday July 10th at the Filmpool 301-1822 Scarth Street, Regina.

StéréoKULTUR (www.stereokultur.org), an organization for German-Canadian cultural exchange, is proud to present a panorama retrospective of independent film and video works shot in Montreal and Berlin by Quebec filmmaker Lysanne Thibodeau. This program will tour Canada from June 21 2012 onward, with the support of the Canada Arts Council.
